Our Topic: Developing Your Novel’s Voice and Style, with Janice Hardy
Voice and style are critical to writing and a way to make your novel uniquely yours. You’ll see them in how you string your words together, the way you describe, and how your characters sound when they speak and think. In this workshop, writers will learn the nuances of voice and style, explore how both work in writing, and work on developing their own natural writing style. They’ll also learn how to spot opportunities to strengthen not only the author voice, but the character voices as well, and discover why word choice is often what makes the difference between good writing and great writing.
About our Speaker
Janice Hardy is the award-winning author and founder of Fiction University, where she helps writers improve their craft and navigate the crazy world of publishing. She teaches writing workshops across the country, and her blog has been recognized as a Top Writing Blog by Writer’s Digest. When she’s not writing about writing, she spins tales of adventure for both teens and adults, and firmly believes that doing terrible things to her characters makes them more interesting. She loves talking with writers and readers, and encourages questions of all types—even the weird ones. Find out more about her and her books at www.Fiction-University.com or www.JaniceHardy.com.
