The race is on! New distribution platforms are popping up everywhere and legacy platforms are digging in. All of them are vying for the same prize: content. Many authors are off the starting block, chasing down promised profits in a race of their own. But are the distributors what they seem, and will profits really come?

This session will explore ten timely topics in distribution, from the hidden agendas of new players to the changing agendas of mega players like Amazon. It will explore the gradual erosion of the traditional royalty system and deconstruct how authors (and publishers, and distributors, and ancillary players) are really making money. It will equip authors with more information to bring into the negotiating room and help them think more critically about market dynamics business decisions.

About the Speaker
